Once the car was
complete, a final test run was called for in preparation of
the race. This allowed Jon to check the handling capabilities
and push the car to it's limit. If anything fell off now we
would still have a couple of days to rectify the problem (though
all the team really wanted the weekend off!). As it transpired
the car was solid as a rock. Despite increased rolling resistance
of the new front wheel assembly and a slight "twitchy"
feel to the steering, the car performed beautifully. Able to
be pushed easily with a single finger and the onboard computer
clocking 20mph from a standing start, Jon surprised more than
a few motorists in the lanes around the workshop!
